Rights for Formula 1 are sold by country (and sometimes by language). That means “just open F1 TV” is not always the answer — and “my friend’s Sky login” is not a plan.
Use this page as a decision map:
- Find your territory’s official broadcaster (live TV / local stream).
- Check whether F1 TV (Pro / Access / Premium, depending on market) is sold where you live.
- Pick the combo that matches how you watch: one feed vs onboard cameras, team radio, and multi-view.
Official references (bookmark these):

- F1 TV Location Availability — whether F1 TV is offered in your country
We summarise major English-speaking and high-search markets below. If your country is missing, start with the two official links above — do not assume a VPN “fixes” a missing right.
Quick decision table
| Your situation | Start here |
|---|---|
| You want the simplest live race in your language | Local / regional broadcaster listed by F1 |
| You want onboard cams, team radio, driver tracker | F1 TV where it is sold (tier names vary by market) |
| You live in the United States (2026 season) | Apple TV is the exclusive U.S. broadcast partner; F1 TV Premium is tied to that Apple TV subscription path |
| You travel across borders on race weekend | Expect feeds and apps to follow local rights — plan ahead |
United States (2026)
From the 2026 season, Apple TV is Formula 1’s exclusive U.S. broadcaster. Coverage is built around an Apple TV subscription: practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions, and Grands Prix are in that package, with some sessions also called out as free in the Apple TV app during the season (confirm in-app for the weekend you care about).
F1 TV in the U.S. has also changed shape: F1’s own premium offering is positioned as available via the Apple TV subscription (included for Apple TV subscribers per Formula 1 / Apple announcements). Do not follow old “buy F1 TV Pro standalone on the web” guides for the U.S. without re-checking current Apple and F1 help pages.
Practical path for U.S. fans
- Confirm Apple TV subscription status.
- Open the Apple TV app race weekend and pin session times.
- Use Apple Sports / Lock Screen live features if you want glanceable timing (optional).
- For deep multi-cam / data habits, confirm how F1 TV Premium appears inside your Apple TV entitlements.

United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland
Official F1 list: Sky Sports and Channel 4.
Typical fan pattern (verify current packages before you pay):
- Sky Sports — full live slate for subscribers.
- Channel 4 — selected free-to-air coverage (often highlights and/or specific sessions; check Channel 4 listings for each weekend).
F1 TV may or may not be offered alongside local rights depending on territory rules — always use the Location Availability tool rather than a blog screenshot from last year.
Canada
Official F1 list: TSN, RDS / RDS 2, and Noovo (language / package split matters).
Decide by language first (English vs French), then by whether you already pay for a sports bundle. Add F1 TV only after the location tool says it is sold in Canada for your account country.
Australia
Official F1 list: Fox Sports, Foxtel, and Kayo.
Most fans pick based on whether they already live in the Foxtel / Kayo ecosystem. Check F1 TV availability separately if you want onboard / multi-view beyond the local broadcast.
New Zealand
Official F1 list: Sky NZ. Confirm F1 TV with the location tool if you want the data-heavy product on top.
Europe (selected)
These are broadcast names from Formula 1’s public table — not a ranking, and not a promise that every session is on every tier:
| Territory | Broadcaster(s) listed by F1 |
|---|---|
| France | Canal+ |
| Germany | Sky Deutschland, RTL |
| Italy | Sky Italia |
| Spain & Andorra | DAZN |
| Portugal | DAZN |
| Netherlands | Viaplay |
| Nordics (examples) | Viaplay / TV3 / V sport — see full F1 table for your country |
| Austria | Servus TV, ORF, Sky |
| Switzerland | SRF, RSI, RTS, Sky |
For each of these, run the same two-step check: local app or channel → then F1 TV location tool.
Latin America & Brazil
| Territory | Broadcaster(s) listed by F1 |
|---|---|
| Latin America | ESPN |
| Brazil | TV Globo, sportv |
| Mexico | TUDN, Sky Sports, Izzi |
Spanish- and Portuguese-language commentary options (including F1 TV regional commentary expansions announced for 2026) are evolving — prefer official F1 TV / broadcaster apps for the current language list.
Asia–Pacific & Middle East (selected)
| Territory | Broadcaster(s) listed by F1 |
|---|---|
| Japan | Fuji TV |
| South Korea | Coupang Play (F1 has also discussed F1 TV Pro / Premium launch in Korea for 2026 — confirm in-app) |
| India | FanCode, TATA Play FanCode Sports |
| Hong Kong | beIN SPORTS, Now Sports 1 & 2 |
| Singapore / Malaysia & Brunei / Thailand / Indonesia / Philippines | beIN SPORTS |
| MENA | beIN Sports |
| China | Shanghai TV, Guangdong Television, Tencent (platforms and apps vary — use local listings) |
What F1 TV is for (when it is available)
When F1 TV is sold in your country, it is usually the product for choice and depth: multiple onboard cameras, team radio, timing overlays, and (on higher tiers) support series. Local broadcasters are usually the product for commentary culture and the “one big screen” race vibe.
Tier names you may see in help docs and press notes include F1 TV Access, F1 TV Pro, and F1 TV Premium. Exact names, prices, and feature matrices differ by country and change by season — we will cover a dedicated comparison in F1 TV vs regional options (next pillar). Until that article is live, treat official F1 TV checkout screens as the source of truth for price.

A simple race-weekend checklist
- Open the official F1 broadcast table and note your row.
- Open F1 TV Location Availability and note yes/no for your country.
- Decide: broadcast-only, F1 TV-only (if sold), or both.
- Log in before qualifying Saturday so DRM / device limits are not a surprise.
- If you travel, re-check both tools for the country you will be in — not your home country.
What we are not recommending here
- Unofficial streams
- Sharing accounts against a provider’s terms
- “Just use a VPN” as a default how-to-watch method (geo rules are set by rights holders; we may cover VPN products later only with a separate compliance pass)
